History and approach

We treat your child the same way we treat ours!

Clever Kids wasn’t established just for any particular reason. The idea to start the early learning center is built on the unique experience I gained while helping people find themselves in life. I searched for ways to help them develop those qualities and skills that would become a solid foundation upon which they could advance their careers.

As a professional guidance/career counselor, I discovered  that as children grew older and entered early adolescence, it became increasingly difficult, at times almost impossible, to expose them to new ideas or things. Their ability to acquire new qualities became sapped as they grew older. This was due to a number of factors such as, kindergartens that didn’t provide individual attention to children, overbearing parents, ill-timed provision of information, misuse of intellectual growth fads, among others, ended up swallowing the growth potential of children.

This is when it occurred to me to start working with children between the ages of 3 and 6. Only then did it become evident how easily and simply children absorb information when it’s delivered in a timely manner and when it’s needed. This happens when a child isn’t forced to immediately achieve a particular result and instead given time during the process and the opportunity to understand and see the essence and goal of any process.

While researching the work of various authors on child development I came across the views of Maria Montessori. I never met a more integral and systemic approach towards child development than hers. She saw foremost that a child’s individuality requires respect. Virtually all other techniques focus on intellectual development. However, a child has feelings and emotions. They need time to absorb, to grasp and to arrive at conclusions, to become aware of their abilities, and to know how to make choices.

Therefore the main philosophy of our early learning center is grounded in Maria Montessori’s views on a child’s individuality and her system that incorporates the psychological, physiological, intellectual, emotional and spiritual development of children, and doesn’t simply entail the use of textbook materials.

Working with children together with a team of like-minded practitioners, we’ve noticed that the thoughts, desires and unfulfilled capacities of parents leave a lasting impression on their children. Parents often impose their choices onto their child without paying heed to their wishes. However, when considering that a person’s character begins to form when mothers are in their pregnancy; the necessity arose to start engaging parents and those who are already in the family planning stage.

Realizing all of this came about gradually and also includes the experience I gained raising my two children. It was much easier with my second daughter. I didn’t have to try to understand what she needed, I sensed and knew it. It’s she who inspired me to start a program to prepare future mothers and fathers. My personal experience has shown what works and what doesn’t. But one truth always remains. And that is, everyone is different. What’s good for one person might not be entirely compatible for another. This is how Clever Kids Club was established. We are happy that after eight years of early child development work, and owing to our partners abroad, we’ve reached a new qualitative level and have made many enhancements in our work.
