Kiddy
from 1 to 1 year 9 monthsKiddy course. Viva the big and interesting world!
This child development course is for beginning, vivid personalities. At the age of 1 year to 1 year, 9 months children form basic models of behaving in society, which they’ll use in their adult life. Therefore the course is intended for the child to learn communication skills, speech development, intellectual activities and self-dependency.
When and why is it necessary to attend the Kiddy development activities?
Small children should begin with development activities when they start to walk around the age of 12 months. This is when children find it easier to start learning communication and behavioral skills. Together with our center’s experienced teachers, children will take their first steps in communicating with their peers and with adults. They’ll learn to find common ground and clearly express their wishes, to cooperate and make friends.
What will the child learn in the Kiddy group?
At this age children are active, lively and curious. They quench their interest to learn about their surroundings by actively communicating in various activities with children and adults in an organized setting. Owing to this, children gain personal experience in communication. The child learns to exercise self-control, to coordinate their personal movements and activities, to cooperate and be friendly, be attentive and observe rules of group behavior. When engaging with teachers, a special speech and learning setting is created which facilitates the timely development of speech and thought.
Are adults present during activities?
In the first lessons when the child is still adapting to their new surroundings, the presence of someone close to the child is needed. Parents here play the role of an assistant helping only when the child really requires assistance. With time the child grows more independent and eventually they let go of the near and dear person without any trouble.
Structure of lessons or what is the child engaged in?
The lesson’s duration is one hour and is comprised of three parts:
1 Educational games that develop the mind, creative abilities and self-dependency.
2 Basics of etiquette and communications skills.
3 Musical activities and the English language.
What kind of results can one expect with regular attendance and completion of the Kiddy course?
Every child develops at their own pace. Some acquire skills earlier, others later. However, the proficiency and successes of development will be apparent.
You’ll notice that the child:
1 Engages with interest and enthusiasm.
2 Learns independence (they choose their own activity or game) and communicability, knows how to play alone or with adults and children.
3 Develops resourcefulness – this is noticeable in how they behave in new playing situations.
4 Learns how to greet people, communicate, to thank, to wait their turn during games and to share toys.
5 Develops active speech patterns, the child uses more gestures, words and phrases.
6 Learns order and self-discipline – helps put away toys.
7 Acts up fewer times and learns to reconcile.
8 Develops patience and listening skills, the child waits for its turn in a game.
9 Learns to understand and manage their desires.
How long should the lessons be attended to achieve these results?
The Kiddy course is geared for 9 months of learning. In this time the child grows accustomed to engaging and learning independently. These skills will help them in future development and acquiring knowledge in the next Kids Club Eureka program.
